I've had the chance to work closely with Max, and he's one of those people who makes an immediate impact. Max worked for me at The Church of Next Christ of Latter-day Saints and he was amazing. I've hired many, many engineers over the years and they simply don't come any better than Max. He quickly grasped onto technologies used on the projects he was tasked to support, some that are uncommon in the industry, and immediately settled into the work. He ramped up and began making creative and meaningful contributions in a timeframe and quality that you'd expect of a senior engineer. Not to mention, he was a fully remote employee as well. It really was amazing. Max is a very quick and proactive learner, an excellent team player, is very reliable, and is incredibly talented. Not having an avenue to retain him after his internship was incredibly frustrating because I'd take him and ten more just like him if I could.

Max came to us as an intern and our plans were to have him work on minor side projects. But his willingness to do anything has led us to have him be lead engineer on several major projects for our company, including setting up all of the architecture and customer experience for a chatbot, creating a graph database visualization tool, implementing a ChatGPT based content creation tool (before the API was even available yet) and doing some complex big data analysis. In every case Max delivered early, exceeding expectation. Additionally, as we are a startup, he did this with very little product or design oversight, and minimum engineering support. Max also is enthusiastic in customer-facing assignments and recently helped us with customers at a major trade show.
